Lisgoold 0 – 5 Bride Rovers “A” 4 - 6
Our second U12 League Game took place in Lisgoold on Thursday night last, 22nd April against Bride Rovers “A” team. It turned out to be a great game of football and the final score does not reflect the fantastic effort put in by our girls. Lisgoold were first to put a score on the board with a great point from Dayna Bradley. Bride Rovers replied also with a point quickly followed by another point.
Our forwards tried valiantly to get more scores but were denied by solid goalkeeping by Bride Rovers. Pressure from Bride Rovers just before half time resulted in two goals, leaving the half time score of Lisgoold 0-1 Bride Rovers 2 – 2.
The second half was once again a very tightly contested affair and Lisgoold notched up 4 more points but Rovers had the luck of goals hitting the target. Our full-back Fiona Murphy was outstanding on the night as was half-back Aoibhe Savage who had her best performance so far in the Lisgoold colours.
Midfielder, Donna McCann and our forwards Dayna Bradley, Siomha Walsh and Laura Whelan were unlucky on numerous occasions not to hit the target but it was just not meant to be.
Well done to all the players including our substitutes. It was a brilliant team effort and credit is due to all the players for giving their all on the night and never giving up until the final whistle.
