U12 League Match Lisgoold V Glanmire

Glanmire 4-7 Lisgoold 1-2

Our U12 girls played their first League match of the 2010 Ladies Football Campaign against Glanmire on Wednesday evening last, 7th April in Glanmire. Both teams served up a very entertaining game of football enjoyed by all present.

It was end to end football with Lisgoold getting the first score of the match with a fine point from midfielder Donna McCann. It was closely followed by a great goal from Ellen Flynn and a further point this time from Dayna Bradley. Glanmire replied with a point mid way through the half. Unlucky for us, our corner forward, Laura Whelan was denied scores by the goal posts on a few occasions.

In the second half Lisgoold faced the sun and Glanmire edged ahead with a couple of goals. Again it was a closely fought second half and unfortunately for Lisgoold we had too many wides with our forwards being very unlucky not to get the vital scores.

Well done to goalie, Britney Devine who brought off some great saves, especially in the second half. Other players to shine on the night were Sinead O’Brien, Fiona Murphy, Rachel McCann, Aoibhe Savage, Niamh Power and Donna McCann. Well done to all the girls keep up the training and we look forward to some great games of football in the weeks ahead.
