Lisgoold got a perfect start in this match with an early goal from a free taken by Laura O’ Shea. Unfortunately we failed to build on this and St. Colman’s took control for the remainder of the half. We battled back stronger in the second half but missed some easy chances, the only result being a point from our reliable free taker Laura. The high point of the half was a brilliant goal from the left wing scored by Taylor Bradley. With the light fading the referee brought the game to a close on a scoreline of Lisgoold 2-1, St. Colman’s 3-7.
That we had a team at all for this match is due to girls like Kelly McCann and Cara O’Brien who insisted on playing even though not fully fit. With team spirit like this it won’t be long before we return to winning ways. We would like to thank the U14 girls who came as cover for the team. They came on when needed and acquitted themselves very well.
