Under 10 ; Lisgoold 0 - 0 Ballinacurra 0 - 0
Our U10 girls played their second league match on Saturday 23rd May away to Ballinacurra.
Once again a great game of football was displayed by both teams who were very evenly matched.
Our half back line of Aoibhe Savage, Fiona Murphy and Grace O'Driscoll marked the Ballinacurra forward line very tightly and prevented them from scoring.
Midfielders Niamh Power and Sinead O'Brien worked very hard at supplying the forwards with the ball but the Ballinacurra backs were solid and scores were very hard to come by. Forwards Ellen Flynn, Alanna Russell and Orla Fleming tried valiantly to get the elusive scores.
Playing against the wind in the second half the Lisgoold back line were under tremendous pressure from Ballinacurra. Captain Sarah Kelleher moved to midfield and both herself and Sinead O'Brien did trojan work to prevent any scores. Our goalie, Britney Devine gave a brilliant display and stopped four chances from the Ballinacurra forwards to ensure that the scoreline remained nil all at the final whistle.
