This was truly a game of two halves. Midleton, playing with the aid ofa strong breeze and backboned by some very good footballers, tookcontrol of this game early on and in spite of determined defence byour backline, opened up a big lead by half time.
Things wereconsiderably different in the second half, which was dominated by theLisgoold attack. We scored some excellent points but were denied timeand time again by Midleton’s outstanding keeper.
Having given theirall, our girls were unable to prevent a couple of attacks whichresulted in late Midleton goals which put a different complexion on the scoreline. The final score of 7-4 to 1-9 does little to describe a pulsating game which is better summed up by the fact that Midleton got eleven scores to Lisgoold’s ten , proving , once again , that "goals win matches".
The girls again gave everything in this match and continue to gain the admiration of all who work with them. Well done girls.
