U16s make it 2 from 2

Lisgoold 6" 9' Bride Rovers 2" 6'

This match had to be moved from Lisgoold to Rathcormac as the pitch in Lisgoold was closed. The late change seemeed to unsettle the young Lisgoold girls as Bride Rovers started stronger. Our opponents quickly notched three points on the score board in quick succession . However, the Lisgoold girls stuck to their task dilligently and gradually the scores began to flow. By half time the Lisgoold girls had exerted their superiority , and score was Lisgoold 3.01, Bride Rovers 0.05.

Our girls upped the pace in the second half and with sharper passing and good play in front of goal the scores continued to flow.

Bride Rovers never gave up pressing and it took tremendous effort from our half and full back lines to keep the Rathcormac girls at bay. It would be unfair to single out girls for individual praise but mention should be made of the full backs and half backs, who were the rock on which this victory was built, the tireless running of the girls who tracked their players as they ran, sometimes the length of the field, and prevented Bride Rovers from turning the tide and the excellent passing and scoring of our forwards.

Final score Lisgoold/Leamlara 6.09 ; Bride Rovers 2.06.
