All roads across East Cork led to the cross at Lisgoold on Thursday last as the unoficial battle for the bragging rights and title of "Brain of Lisgoold" was fought out at Woods' Bar. The first fund raising event of the year, the annual and always enjoyable Table Quiz, was very well attended , with over thirty tables of adult and juveniles testing their wits in a most enjoyable evening. When the tallymen had returned their totals , following a night of furrowed brows , of perplexed head scratching and of puzzled faces, the team of Liam Ruane , Angela Ruane , Margaret O'Brien and Willie O'Brien seize the coved title of "wisest men and women in the parish".
